Solar monitoring at a PV installation requires a basic solution offered by the "SMS PV site". The basic set up contains two pyranometers, one to be set in plane with the modules and one placed horizontal. Depending on the size of the solar plant the number of pyranometers can be increased to get a better coverage and redundancy. Using the MS-802 Secondary standard pyranometers gives the most reliable solution for accurate solar radiation monitoring on site.


Collocated Meteorlogical data (Temperature / Wind speed / Direction) can be used to validate modules performance versus the measured irradiance. The compact WS-500 Meteorological sensor provides the basic components needed.
